Despite yesterday's pull-back rally, the spot rupee kick-started last trading day of this week with a loss of 9 paise at 68.17, on the back of fresh demand is US currency.
On Thursday, the rupee had surged 24 paise to end at one-week high of 68.08.
Right now, the spot rupee is trading at the lowest level of the day at 68.24 - down 16 paise.
Meanwhile, January currency futures are also down 15 paise at 68.35 per dollar.
So far around 1,91,794 contracts have changed hands on the NSE.
Compared to the European-currency, the Indian rupee has pared initial gains, but still up 5 paise at 72.45.
