Benchmark indices closed mixed amid last hour volatility.
The 30-share BSE Sensex was down 61.16 points at 33,856.78 while the 50-share NSE Nifty gained 5.50 points at 10,426.90.
About 1,718 shares advanced against 958 declining shares on the BSE.
TCS was biggest loser among Nifty50 stocks, falling more than 5 percent after big block deal.
