L&T rose 0.24 percent to Rs 1,569 on BSE after the company said it has secured export orders worth $ 71.30 million from Mitsubishi Hitachi Power Systems.
The announcement was made during trading hours today, 5 July 2016.
Meanwhile, the BSE Sensex was down 39.48 points, or 0.14 percent, to 27,239.28.
On BSE, so far 62,000 shares were traded in the counter, compared with average daily volume of 2.07 lakh shares in the past one quarter. The stock hit a high of Rs 1,575 and a low of Rs 1,555.95 so far during the day. The stock hit a 52-week high of Rs 1,886.25 on 17 July 2015.
The stock hit a 52-week low of Rs 1,016.60 on 12 February 2016. The stock had outperformed the market over the past 30 days till 4 July 2016, rising 7.13 percent compared with 1.62 percent rise in the Sensex. The scrip had also outperformed the market in past one quarter, rising 30.98 percent as against Sensex's 9.63 percent rise.
