Indian Equity benchmark began the week on a flat note, with the Nifty ending below 10,000-mark. The Sensex closed up 32 points at 31846, while the Nifty ended higher by 8 points at 9987 whereas midcaps underperformed. Market is awaiting cues from earnings season for further move.

• Europe closed flat yesterday with FTSE down 0.20%, CAC up 0.11%, DAX up 0.16%.
• US: Stocks showed a lack of direction during trading on Monday before the major averages ended the day modestly lower. The Dow edged down 0.1 % to 22,761.07, the Nasdaq dipped 10.45 points to 6,579 and the S&P 500 slipped 0.2 % to 2,544.73. US Markets closed a tad lower on Monday after relatively quiet trade as earnings season loomed
