Castrol, Berger Paints, Apollo Tyres, Dish TV, Hero Moto Corp and Siemens are some of the large-cap companies set to announce their results today.
Global markets
Major Asian markets are trading with deep cuts at present Nikkei is down 5.45%, Shanghai Composite is trading 1.92% lower while Hang Seng is trading down 4.04%.
US Markets: The US markets suffered one of the worst days in its history. The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 4.6%, or 1,175 points, to 24,346. It was the biggest one-day point drop ever.
The S&P 500 fell 4.1%, to 2,649 and the Nasdaq Composite Index ended at 6,967 down 3.8%.
Yesterday’s sell-off completely overshadowed the positive economic news as the U.S.
ISM services index hit its highest level since mid-2005. The stock-market volatility index (VIX) jumped 85% in its biggest 1-day leap ever.
European markets also closed in the red yesterday with FTSE down 1.48 %, CAX was down 1.50% and DAX closed 0.77% lower.
FII Data:
In yesterday’s session, FII’s sold 1263 crores stock in the cash market whereas DII’s bought 1163 crores worth of stock.
In the derivative market, FII’s sold 554 crores of index futures and bought 175 crores worth of Index options.
In the stock futures segment, FII’s bought 596 crores worth of stock futures and sold 27 crores stock options.
