TVS Motor Company (TVSM) had an impressive product line up at the Auto Expo 2018. It showcased the following three concept vehicles:
TVS Zeppelin, a 220cc segment hybrid cruiser motorcycle concept that is expected to compete with the XPulse 200 from Hero MotoCorp and Bajaj Avenger 220. The Zeppelin uses a new 220 cc, four stroke petrol engine paired with an electric motor. It is expected to be launched over the next 1-2 years.
TVS Creon, an electric sports scooter concept that can accelerate from 0-60kmph in just 5.1 seconds, supposedly the fastest so far for any Indian scooter. The Creon has a rapid charging time of 60 minutes for 80% of charge.
Ethanol powered motorcycle, Apache RTR 200 Fi Ethanol, which uses a greener fuel compared to petrol. The motorcycle can run with 85% ethanol content and has a top speed of 129kmph.
As per 9MFY18 volume numbers, TVSM enjoys 14.4% market share in the Indian two-wheeler industry. Domestic volumes contribute 84% to total volumes and exports contribute the rest. Motorcycles, scooters and mopeds contribute 39%, 33% and 25% respectively to total volumes. The company also manufactures three wheelers, however, they only contribute 3% to total volumes.
TVS Motor Company Ltd is currently trading at Rs663.65, down by Rs1.85 or 0.28% from its previous closing of Rs665.5 on the BSE.
The scrip opened at Rs660 and has touched a high and low of Rs671.6 and Rs651.95 respectively. So far 9,60,486(NSE+BSE) shares were traded on the counter. The current market cap of the company is Rs31,617.91cr.
